Seven of Cups

Ted stands at the side of a vast lake, struck by the splendour of what he sees, but bewildered by the many choices before him. Each of the precarious paths across the lake leads to a richly filled cup, one cup for each of the seven traditional planets of astrology. But the path to the most desirable cup appears to be only a reflection of light … or is it the opening up of a wonderful opportunity?

A bright star near the horizon represents Venus, the ruler of the third decan of Scorpio, the arc of the sky corresponding to the Seven of Cups. The Sun reaches that decan in mid November, as illustrated by the squirrel scrabbling for late nuts to save up for the winter; maybe this is the golden opportunity for the squirrel.

Divination

Possibilities opening up. You can have whatever you wish – but be careful what you wish for! Too many choices, spoilt for choice. There is a need to keep the eyes on the main chance.
