Major Arcana
The Hierophant
Ted, as the honoured representative of divinity, sits enthroned before two acolytes, whom he sprinkles with blessed water. At the ends of his stole are the Greek letters alpha and omega, symbolising the beginning and end of all things. His staff bears a representation of the kabbalistic Tree of Life, which encompasses the nature of the whole of existence, spiritual and physical. The back of the throne is decorated with an image of a bull’s head, representing the zodiac sign of Taurus.
Divination
Good teaching or good advice. This card may represent a person, in which case it is one who can be trusted to provide those things. There exists a strong desire to seek and attain knowledge, possibly of a spiritual or philosophical nature, but also of more familiar topics relating to our life in the physical universe. There is a desire for conformity and acceptance, but a warning against excessively slavish adherence to a particular belief or belief system. That said, someone under the influence of this card will most likely be strongly affected by their inner beliefs, which will guide all their inter-personal relationships, for example by cementing the act of marriage with a religious ceremony.
